Flashback to 3 years ago:
On November 2, 2011, this little bundle came into our lives (very quickly!!). Well, he
continues to keep us on our toes and brings more joy to all of our lives
then we ever imagined! Caleb and Ellie's sidekick, my constant companion, and a little ray of sunshine in our every day!
This little blonde cutie is 3!!
And we had a lot of fun celebrating!
He woke up to a room full of balloons and got inducted into the tradition of being measured by daddy on the doorframe:
Speaking of measurements, I took him last week for his checkup and he weighs 31 pounds (50th percentile) and is 37inches (25th percentile)- "He's solid", was how Dr. Herrick described him. haha. Also, his head was in the 90th percentile- apparently we make boys with big heads.
The kids each look forward to picking a special breakfast on their birthday. He chose mini waffles with whipped cream and sprinkles!
Oh, how I L-O-V-E his signature smile:
We went to Barnes and Noble to play, read, and pick out a new book. His favorite part was running around with a little Olaf music box (singing "Do you want to build a snowmaaaaaan!?" over and over) and disturbing the peace...haha!
Then we all picked out treats at SmallCakes-
We also headed to Wichita for a quick visit on his birthday. It was fun to see our family, play with his uncles, see Great Grandma, and have a jam session with dad :)
Grandma and Grandpa gifted him a new karaoke machine...and let me tell you, ALL the kids have had lots of fun with it. I found William belting out a song before school one day:
And of course we celebrated with our family and friends at his "Very Hungry Caterpillar" party! William requested a Hungry Caterpillar themed party way back in the summer. He LOVES books and this is one of our all-time favorites. I thought it was a great idea, and it was tons of fun to plan.
The morning of the party. Bed-head and all, they were so excited!
William even painted some caterpillars for the table :)
We had lots of fun treats- the menu was easy to plan. We just used the foods from the book!
Uncle John was the hero fixing the cupcake stand right before the party (it was missing a piece). But we did have a cupcake avalanche about halfway through- whoops!
I love that everyone signed his book with little messages and blessings!
This was also the first year that he was super pumped about opening presents! He proudly held up each one for everyone to see:
We love our new Olaf hat from John and Jackie :)
Shortly after the party, we found William downstairs like this. All tuckered out. A sign of a successful party!Oh, how he lights up our lives!!!!! I LOVE YOU WILLIAM!
