Hi everyone! Hope your summer has been awesome! Seems like ours is full of events- the latest was Ellie's birthday!! She is now officially ONE!! Crazy, my little baby is now in the single digits. She is pulling up, walking with help, climbing all over the house, saying a few words, and trying to repeat lots of sounds! She even loves to do the motions to songs she is learning at preschool. She now says "Da-deeeeee"! Daniel loves it of course :) and "uh-oh!" and "all done!". She is also learning to drink from a sippy cup. Not much longer till we say bye-bye to the bottles:And Caleb loved his first experience with corn on the cob just last week:And what is a birthday without a little pre-party? That's how we roll around here :) Grandma Marcia and Aunt Ashly came over for a little pre-party birthday celebration: "I'm ONE!!!!"Of course C loved it too- he really likes her new princess book. hah!
And......here are some pics of the big event:
Decorations: Birthday girl!!Hanging out with Samantha, Uncle Ryan, and Uncle Thomas the night before:Samantha, my helper!!! She was so sweet to help me with the kids and with the cake!Cake!! Caleb helped her eat it of course! Messy girl!!!!Mommy and the big girl! With Grandma Janet:Grandma Sally and Aunt Kelsey:My fam: Granpa David, Grandma Janet, Uncles Ry and Tom:Big Brother! Love him so much!!And Ellie got some pretty cute presents, too! She got a baby stroller and a baby buggy, and two little baby dolls that she has been pushing all around the house:The kids have both been enjoying the new pool:
At her party, my mom and Sally were sitting on the couches and Caleb announced VERY excitedly, "I have TWO grandmas!!!" Something obviously clicked in his brain and he is understanding more and more! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family! The kids just adore their Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles. It is so great! We have started not telling Caleb when he gets to see them until right before they come, because he will cry and refuse to go to preschool or bed because he wants to see them right then!! They sure get a lot of love!

The evening of her birthday, Ellie started to run a fever and wasn't feeling well :( She ended up having a bad ear infection, and we battled a 103 fever for days!! But she is doing great now. Speaking of ears, check out her new bling ;)
Caleb has been loving our trips to the library. He has always liked books, so I knew he would love it! He is very particular about which books he chooses, and he has to choose each one, then sit in the big chair and read them aloud (his own words of course!) then he carries them up to the desk, checks them out, then smiles and says, "Thank You!!", collects his books, and proudly carries them out the door. He even sleeps with them at night and we find him reading them long after we put him to sleep, and in the morning sometimes, too.

He had lots of fun playing in the rain with daddy, too:
And we are officially finished with baseball for the summer! Uncle Thomas and Grandma Janet got to come to his "game" and he even got a medal! We got to spend the rest of the weekend hanging out with Uncle Tom and Grandma :)

OK, so I am going to attempt to show some videos on here:
The first is a you-tube link: This is a song that Caleb made up, and he sings it all the time. We have no idea what he is saying, but he seems to know...haha! It is called "audabeedabudy". Click on the link to hear:

The next is a video of Ellie climbing the stairs- Caleb taught her this one morning while I was at work. She hasn't stopped since :)

One more pic of my little birthday girl:Over the past year, Ellie has been such a little light in our lives! She has truly added so much to our family. Caleb is so in love with and protective of his little sis, and she already has mommy and especially daddy wrapped around her little finger! She has the brightest smile and the sweetest little laugh, and a fiesty side that will be hard to tame later I am sure :) I never knew how incredibly rewarding parenting could be (and hard work, too!) and I wouldn't trade it for anything! I am truly blessed and so glad that I get to be their mommy. Happy birthday Ellie and Happy almost-birthday Caleb!!
