Hangin' out with uncle Thomas:
Here he is showing off his magic tricks. We are grooming him for the circus- we figure he is just about old enough to start contributing to the daycare costs....
Caleb had a really great 4th of July. On Friday night, we went over to some friends' house to watch fireworks (and watch Dan and my brothers try to blow each other up- how is it that blowing up things never gets old for guys.??) We were a little nervous to see how Caleb would react to the loud BOOMS from the fireworks (and let me tell you, there were some BIG ones). Every time there was a loud explosion, Caleb would get really still, look around, and then start LAUGHING! Not just a smile, but all-out giggling- every time! He had us all laughing! It probably won't be quite as cute when he is older, and thinks that fires and explosions are cool, but for now it is pretty darn cute, and it made for a very fun night :)
Saturday and Sunday, we went out to the lake~ At first, we had no way of containing Caleb- he had a lot of new territory to discover and despite my constant efforts to keep him on a large clean blanket in the shade with his clean toys (I am lightening up...but I am still a little obsessive...ask Dan...haha) he kept crawling to the edge and grabbing fistFULLS of sand and rocks and shoving them in his mouth. It must have tasted pretty good, because he kept going back for more...and more...and more.... A friend at church said maybe its because of all the whole grain and organic stuff we feed him and he was mistaking if for something we would give him to eat.
Anyway, Grandma Janet decided to buy him a play pen- what a great idea! He actually loved it, and it freed us to have alot more fun too. Daniel and I even got on some ski's for the first time in a couple of years.
